For The Hostess-With-The-Mostess

For every chef in the kitchen this week, there will be several others in the den or living room, all very thankful to not be anywhere near a pot or pan. Depending on where you live, the parameters of a hostess gift will vary. For me, a small token of appreciation is warranted when the prep time is longer than an average Tuesday night meal. Keep in mind that I also really enjoy giving gifts (aka a sercy if you are south of the Mason-Dixon) and have a fantastic resource in Nest (shameless plus but also very very true) for finding something perfect. So here are my top three gifts this Thanksgiving for any host or hostess-with-the-mostess!

First up, the Stag Candle from Don Carney’s PATCH NYC. This candle smells like a walk through a christmas tree farm on a brisk December morning. I love it and it burns for an incredible 72 hours.

Available at Nest, $36

My next find is for a groovy host who loves a punch of color and is always looking for a place to set their holiday bubbly. These slightly psychedelic coasters by Jonathan Adler are perfect for year-round entertaining and make daily sipping less mundane.

Available at Nest, $68

Last but not least, these darling soaps by Mor are always a favorite. They come in a variety of yummy fragrances that are never offensive and each is wrapped in lovely paper that of course, I really appreciate and love.

Available at Nest, $16

And the most important things to remember as a guest on any occasion is to bring a smile, a helping hand and a heartfelt thank you.

Happy Thanksgiving and as always, write often!

  1. Hi! This is kind of off topic but I need some advice from an established blog.

Is it tough to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty quick.
I’m thinking about creating my own but I’m not sure where to begin.
Do you have any tips or suggestions? Cheers
